Ar-Razzaq: The Provider
To understand this name of Allah subhannawataalla, we need to know the root word,”rizq” which means something that is beneficial to us. Rizq can be anything, money (most of what we think of as it) emotional rizq, spiritual and many more. Allah (swt) (God) takes it upon Himself to be the one who gives us each our own Rizq. Providing sustenance to everything and everyone, muslim, and not muslim. He is our creator, and He knows what rizq and when to give it to each of us. Creator best knows His creation! As college students and even parents now, we all face a lack of rizq, we feel that way but Allah (swt) has it saved for us at the time He wills. As we’re drowning in maybe student loans, car payments, emotional struggles, etc we also have to keep in mind that Allah(swt) sustains everything. Plants and animals. When the rain falls, we’re encouraged to make more duaa, rain is rizq! Imagine, crops down, animals (including ourselves) thirsty, If you’re in SA you’d know of the droughts we face! or at UTSA never seeing the Sombrilla fountain on lol but anyway, We can’t forget to thank Allah (swt) for any rizq He gives us, and we should thank Him for not giving it to us yet, because we truly don’t know if it will be in our best interest at the moment, wa Allahu a3lam.
“And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision [rizq], and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.” (Qur’an, 11:6)
So when you make duaa, mention this name, call Him using this name, and see how much rizq you will get. if not now, imagine in Jannah (heaven) inshaAllah. (God willing)
AND wish for your brother or sister what YOU want for yourself. Cannot forget that!
